The avalanche of sexual harassment, assault and rape allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein are also starting to affect his personal life.

Weinstein's wife, Georgina Chapman, has announced she's leaving him because of his "unforgivable actions".

“My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time,” Chapman said in a statement to People.

Weinstein and Chapman got married in 2007. They have two children together: India Pearl, aged 7, and Dashiell Max Robert, aged 4.

Chapman, 41, is a British fashion designer who launched the Marchesa fashion label.

After the initial New York Times investigation, Weinstein gave an interview with the New York Post saying his wife was supporting him:

“She stands 100 percent behind me. Georgina and I have talked about this at length. We went out with Lisa Bloom (Weinstein's former advisor) last night when we knew the article was coming out. Georgina will be with Lisa and others kicking my ass to be a better human being and to apologize to people for my bad behavior, to say I’m sorry, and to absolutely mean it.”
