Each physical space is custom-built to mirror the VR landscape inside your headset, meaning you can move around without the worry of tripping over a chair or confused dog. There are even props, to simulate the feel of carrying a lantern or wielding a sword.
This trailer gives a good sense of how The Void operates:
Ghostbusters: Dimension takes that framework and lets you loose in a paranormal fantasy hosted by Jillian Holtzmann, Kate McKinnon's character in the upcoming movie. After exploring Ghostbusters HQ, you head to an apartment complex to take on some actual spooks.
Dimension was created with Ghostbusters creator Ivan Reitman and reboot director Paul Feig. We have no idea what to expect from this, but it looks and sounds preposterously cool.
The Ghostbusters: Dimension VR attraction comes to New York City on July 1, with an installation at the Madame Tussauds wax museum in Times Square. Take an early look at it in the screens below.
