One person's lucky charm could be a local government's national treasure.

Aileen Cynthia Maggay-Amurao, a tourism official from Puerto Princesa, Philippines, says the city is home to what could be the world's largest natural pearl on record. Weighing in at almost 75 pounds, it's bigger than the Pearl of Lao Tzu, the 14-pound previous record holder.

Maggay-Amurao shared photos of the pearl on Facebook, and appealed to her followers to help find a gemologist who can verify the pearl's authenticity.

As Maggay-Amurao tells the Daily Mail, a local fisherman discovered the pearl nearly ten years ago. Unaware of the pearl's value, he considered it a good luck charm and kept it stored under his bed. It wasn't until he brought the pearl to the local tourism office that he realized its worth.

Search your belongings for treasure, folks-- you could be sleeping above the world's next natural wonder. Or at least something that pays the bills.
