Giphy will help you save all your old Vines
We're still reeling from the news that Twitter plans to shut down Vine but Giphy is hoping to make it all a little less painful.
The GIF startup plans to create a tool that will allow you to turn your Vines into GIFs that will live on Giphy's website.
It's not clear exactly how this will work, but the company says the import tool will require a Giphy account and will be available "very soon."

In some ways, GIFs are a comparable format to the six-second looping format of Vines. Of course, GIFs don't include sound so any videos with sound effects or other essential audio likely won't translate as well.
Still, it may not be a bad option for Vine users looking for another place to preserve their creations. (Twitter has also said it will allow users to download their past posts.)
We still have some time before Twitter shutters the app for good so we wouldn't be surprised if a few more third-parties jump in with similar tools.
