Gogobot and Hostelworld want to make it easier for tourists to delve into the local scene, from the moment they book.

The city guide service and hostel company announced a partnership on Thursday that will give people who book through Hostelworld in-app access to Gogobot's travel guides.

The new feature in the Hostelworld app, called "My Trips," provides travelers with information about what to see and do in their destination.

"Our customers are highly mobile, and look for experiences not souvenirs," said Breffni Horgan, head of product at Hostelworld. "They’re also very sociable, want to live as locals do and meet the world."

Gogobot's advice to travelers will include off-the-beaten-path recommendations of things to do and places to eat. For now, the content is only in 22 cities — including London, New York and San Francisco — but Gogobot plans to expand offerings in the coming months.

The content will be aimed at all different types of travelers, based on Gogobot's 19 "tribes," which include adventure travelers, backpackers, budget travelers and outdoor enthusiasts.
