Google snuck in a few not-so-subtle Apple digs during its big live event

It's Google's big day and it'll drag Apple through the mud if it wants to.

It's Google's big day and it'll drag Apple through the mud if it wants to.

At Tuesday's Made by Google event, the company unveiled the Pixel, Google's first smartphone. They made sure to tout a notable feature: Unlike the iPhone 7, it has a headphone jack.

Naturally, Pixel's first spot features a pretty obvious Apple jab:

But the shots didn't stop there.

Senior Vice President of Hardware Rick Osterloh on Pixel's camera: "And there's no unsightly camera bump."

Even the comically simple names given to Pixel's color options felt like a response to more complicated color names, a trend Apple spearheaded when it declared its pink iPhone "Rose Gold."
