Google is not allowing neo-Nazi site The Daily Stormer to host its domain with the platform, Reuters reported.

This move comes only hours after GoDaddy, the former host, gave the website a 24-hour heads up before it would be removed.

“We are cancelling Daily Stormer’s registration with Google Domains for violating our terms of service," a Google spokesperson said in an emailed statement to Mashable.

The Daily Stormer had registered its domain with Google at 10:51 a.m. EDT. Google canceled the registration at 2:02 p.m. EDT, according to Business Insider.

GoDaddy originally hosted the domain and had previously been criticized for doing so. But the company only took action following a violent rally in Charlottesville and cited an article about the woman who had been killed as a reason for termination. GoDaddy issued a 24-hour warning, which they also made public on Twitter.

The Daily Stormer had encouraged attendance to the "Unite The Right" rally, where a man drove a truck into a crowd, killing one non-violent protester and injuring others. On Sunday, the website published a disparaging article about Heather Heyer, the woman who was killed.

"Given their latest article comes on the immediate heels of a violent act, we believe this type of article could incite additional violence, which violates our terms of service," a GoDaddy spokesperson told Mashable.

Google is facing its own battle against neo-Nazis and other members of the alt-right community, after the company decided to fire an employee, James Damore, for circulating a sexist memo. The alt-right has since been supporting Damore, such as by raising money for him.

In the case of The Daily Stormer trying to use its service, Google is taking a pro-active stance. Prior to the "Unite The Right" rally, Airbnb had deleted accounts of suspended neo-Nazis after the community flagged them.
