In time for Pride Month, a new Google Doodle commemorates the 50th anniversary of the celebration.

The Doodle, created by animator Nate Swinehart, allows you to click through each decade, which is arranged like a parade that grows in size and momentum as time passes by.

"The Pride Parade is a symbol of celebration and liberation for the entire LGBTQ+ community," Swinehart said in a statement.

"From its early days of activism on Christopher Street in New York City, to the worldwide celebrations of today, it has empowered and given voice to a bright and vibrant community."

Swinehart said his co-worker came up with the idea for the Doodle's design, which was then constructed with paper. He said it was a personal project for him, as a member of the LGBTQ community, and someone who's been inspired by Google Doodles of past.

"Before I joined Google in 2014, I remember opening up the Google homepage to see a Doodle celebrating the Winter Olympics, depicting the colors of the Pride flag," Swinehart wrote.

"I was completely blown away. Looking at the front page of Google, I was filled with hope and a feeling of belonging."

The Doodle will be published in the U.S., Canada, Australia, India, UK, France, among other countries. Speaking of parades: The NYC Pride Parade, one of the largest in the world, is set to take place on Jun. 30.
