Google isn't going to take Prime Day lying down.

Google is throwing down the gauntlet and trying to crash Amazon's annual Prime Day party with an almost too-good-to-be-true deal on Alexa's biggest competition.

Prime Day has become Amazon's annual summer sales blowout extravaganza, giving everyone an excuse to drop what they're doing and buy all the things they could ever want online. Foremost among the sales will undoubtedly be deals on Amazon's Echo speakers, which have made Alexa the leading AI assistant on the market.

But that doesn't mean that Google, Amazon's closest competitor in the smart speaker space, is just going to lie down let the Echo devices fly out of Amazon's distribution centers without a challenge. Google is now offering its Home speaker at an almost laughably cheap price, with an extra device to sweeten the deal.

Google's official eBay page is currently listing a Home bundle promotion for just $99, which was spotted by BGR. You don't just get the speaker for that price, which is $30 off its typical $129 tag — you'll also receive a Chromecast, itself a $35 value. The two devices have some new cross functionality on the horizon, as we learned at the Google I/O event back in May.

When the Home was launched last holiday season, early adopters were treated to a $99 deal, but that was just for the speaker. Put the two gadgets together and you save $64.

That's likely a good enough sale to rival many of Amazon's Prime Day specials — but you should probably act soon if you want to take advantage of the offer, since there are no details available on how long it will be available.
