WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, is coming to WearOS this summer. That means you'll be able to use WhatsApp from your Android-powered smartwatch.

The announcement was made Wednesday during the 2023 Google I/O presentation.

You'll be able to do a number of key tasks in WhatsApp from your watch, including starting new conversations, take calls, or send voice messages.

This is likely a welcome addition for lots of WearOS users. The app for WearOS marks the first time time WhatsApp has come to a watch platform — meaning that, at least for now, it appears iPhone users could be behind.

WhatsApp is an incredibly popular messaging platform globally, meaning lots of people will now be able to keep their phones in their pockets more often.
