Google Maps has a neat little easter egg today for fans of Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda video game. Pegman, the yellow figure that you drag onto the map from its lower right corner in order to enter Street View mode, has been replaced with Link, a character from Zelda.

The trick is probably a promo for Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD game -- the latest in the Zelda series -- which is out today for Nintendo Wii U.

UPDATE: March 4, 2016, 10:02 p.m. CET According to a Google spokesperson, the Link figure was created by a group of Zelda fans at Google to celebrate Zelda's 30th anniversary. "The team worked to get every little detail perfect on a miniature scale in 360 degrees: shied, master sword, satchel, hat, even the sideburns," she told Mashable
