No longer can you rely on TV Guide to give you all the small screen information you need. Home entertainment has moved beyond the traditional TV listings with services like Hulu, Netflix, Google Play, iTunes and more, but people still want to know when they can catch their favorite programs live. And Google is soon going to tell you when and where everything is available.

Google Search will soon include TV listings when you search a movie or show, Google announced in a blog post Wednesday. Searching for Shawshank Redemption will bring up results for when it will inevitably air on AMC on any given week, as well as any other channels, premium or otherwise.

This addition supplements Google Search's existing results for TV shows and movies, which show which streaming services have it available and how much you can rent it for online. Google has given results that show overviews, ratings from popular sites, and cast and crew information for a while now.

With television options like Sling TV becoming more and more popular and smart TVs you can control with your smartphone, it makes sense that people would want to quickly get television schedules in search results.

"Searches for TV shows and films on mobile have grown more than 55% in the past year alone," Google said in its blog post.

Whether you will be able to search for networks and see their show lineups hasn't been determined, but if Google decides to do that, this could really be another blow to TV Guide.

Google did not mention when this new Google Search will start rolling out, only that it will be "coming soon."
