Some say that one of the best views available to the human eye is from the viewing point at Grand Canyon. Those people have not seen the Grand Canyon while free falling from 15,000 feet.

Paragon Skydiving is the first company to be approved for skydiving by the Grand Canyon. Although the experience does not take place directly over the canyon — safety regulations bar that — the drop occurs close enough that the entire South Rim is visible, according to the company.

The tandem skydiving experience, which began in March, starts at Grand Canyon International Airport. From there, a plane carries visitors 20 minutes to a dropping point just south of the rim.

At the "drop zone," visitors strapped to a certified instructor free fall for 30 seconds. Then the instructor pulls the chute and skydivers spend the next five minutes slowly gliding down to earth with jaw-dropping aerial views of the canyon.

Due to strict aviation policies at the Grand Canyon, skydivers are not allowed to land directly in the canyon and the drop can only be done in tandem with an instructor.

Photos and video recordings are available for those who want to relive the experience of jumping from a plane for as long as possible.

The only requirement is that skydivers are 18 or older and in "good physical fitness."

Skydiving is available year-round, although cold temperatures may keep away all but the most interested. The skydiving experience starts at $299.
