Grandma makes a great case for snail mail as social media

It's like Twitter, but in a envelope.

Perhaps internet commentary would be better if we had to send it through the mail instead.

One grandma, at least, makes a great case for replacing social media with snail mail. Her grandson, Redditor Yaleisthecoolest, wrote in a post Monday that his grandmother "clips things out of the newspaper in her small town, and mails them to [his] mother so they can discuss them, annotated with 90yo hot takes."

Here is one such take, and it's a scathing one at that:

Friends, think of this incredible new world. Instead of firing off whatever you want on Twitter, you'd have to find an envelope, buy a stamp, seal everything up and -- get this -- travel to the post office to get your takes out there. Now, would the spread of information slow considerably, even dangerously? For sure! But there would be fewer bad #dotard tweets -- and that's something we can all get behind.

Anyway, please call your grandma. I'm sure she'd love to talk to you.
