No Vogue, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are not gender fluid just because they swap clothes

Seems like Vogue might have missed the class on gender fluidity.

The fashion magazine on Thursday released its August issue featuring on its cover, model Gigi Hadid and singer Zayn Malik, who are dating in real life.

The article centres around Hadid and Malik being "part of a new generation embracing gender fluidity."

It goes on to mention the "new blasé attitude" towards gender identities, drawing on a conversation between the duo.

Here's how it went down:

Hadid: I shop in your closet all the time, don’t I?

Malik: Yeah, but same. What was that T-shirt I borrowed the other day?

Hadid: The Anna Sui?

Malik: Yeah, I like that shirt... It doesn't matter if it was made for a girl.

Hadid: Totally. It's not about gender. It's about, like, shapes. And anyway, it's fun to experiment...

Hold up.

"It"s not about gender, it's about, like, shapes". Yep, that's the face of gender fluidity right there.

People are pretty upset about the article:

Thank you Vogue for opening our eyes to gender fluidity. This is just what we need in 2017.
