Lin-Manuel Miranda ends 'Hamilton' run with a 'West Wing' curtain call
Hamilton creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda took his final curtain call with the show on Saturday, along with fellow original cast members Ariana DeBose, Leslie Odom, Jr. and Phillipa Soo.
The emotional goodbye -- which was, of course, met with a standing ovation -- was accompanied by a live rendition of The West Wing theme song by the house orchestra. Miranda is a noted fan of West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin and has credited the TV series as one of the influences behind Hamilton.

Tickets for the trio's final appearance reportedly climbed into the $20,000 range on ticket reseller sites. Jennifer Lopez, Rosie O'Donnell and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry were just a few of the celebrities said to be in attendance. In case it's not clear: this was a big deal.
Social media erupted with activity after the cast took their final bow, both from grateful fans and from the departing cast members themselves.

The three departing stars all shared their goodbyes on social media as well.
Miranda leapt on the opportunity to chop off the flowing locks he'd been wearing for his title role in the show. Soo and DeBose both offered their own brief, heartfelt farewells.
And in the midst of his own thanks, Odom, Jr. referenced Black Lives Matter and all the recent tragedies, expressing his hope that the show will leave a legacy of fostering conversation.
