On the same day the President of the United States normalized the terrorist acts of white supremacists who killed a protester in Charlottesville, Va., the cast of Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale is here to remind us that speaking truth to power is still vital.

In partnership with Change.org, the actors and producers that brought Margaret Atwood's cautionary tale to life released a video encouraging viewers to take action and support the causes they care about.

"In The Handmaid's Tale, the journey to Gilead happened because people waited too long to speak up," star Elisabeth Moss says in the video above.

"And then they couldn't stop it," adds exec producer Warren Littlefield.

"But we have the power to make change," says Madeline Brewer, who portrays Janine, a handmaid who was mutilated for daring to mock her oppressors.

The message about remaining active could not be more timely. As the short video reminds viewers, progress is only made possible by regular people like you deciding to take a stand.

At a time when many feel so powerless, Change.org's salient reminder of all the good that everyday citizens have accomplished through their platform is more than just welcome: It is sorely needed. Because an attack on anyone's human rights is an attack on all our rights -- and it takes entire nations to defend them.

So if your faith in humanity needs restoring today -- or if you're feeling apathetic -- be sure to check out the full video.
