That ill-advised 'Emoji Movie' tweet shocked the internet into making jokes

What do the Handmaid's Tale and The Emoji Movie have in common? Nothing, and yet here we are.
In the now-deleted tweet from The Emoji Movie's account, a beaming emoji dressed in red robes appears beside the words "The Emoji's Tale." It's a reference to the Margaret Atwood novel -- and now Hulu original series -- that depicts a dystopian society in which women have been stripped of their rights and subjected to sexual abuse and assault. It is, perhaps, the least likely candidate for a fun, emoji mashup.
