Never, ever upset adult Harry Potter fans.

The City of Perth Library in Australia now knows this. It had set up an event for Apr. 30 to bring together "witches, wizards and muggles" for a Harry Potter get together.

Unfortunately for adult fanboys and girls, the party was a kids-only event, which was open to 12 to 18-year-olds. This obviously made all the adult fans of Harry Potter very, very unhappy. So, the adults took to the Facebook event to voice their displeasure.

"Absolutely devastated that this event isn't open to adults. This event looks amazing and would have loved to attend. Such a big HP fan. Surely this can be open to us big kids as well?" Melanie Hobday wrote on the event's wall.

A number of the complaints pointed out the fact that they were kids when the Harry Potter series reached the heights of its popularity throughout the 2000s. It was a decade when you couldn't hide from the gaze of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.

"Aww, I was actually excited to leave my cupboard under the stairs for this, then I read that it was for kids aged 12 to 18. Guess I'll just rot in this cupboard," a sad Florian Hahn wrote.

After resisting the cries of adult fans initially, the City of Perth Library announced on Apr. 4 that it was postponing its event to accomodate the hordes of grown-up muggles wanting to attend the event.

"We want to be able to provide a magical experience for all Library patrons, as such the Harry Potter event has been postponed and we are looking at how we can accommodate many more witches, wizards, muggles and their families."

It's proof that true Harry Potter fans have never really, truly grown up from the series.
