The award-winning two-part Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is heading to California in 2019. The show, which just earned six Tony Awards, will premiere at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco.

“The Bay Area is where cutting-edge culture meets cutting-edge technology, so this wonderful example of riveting storytelling and first-of-its-kind stage magic has found its ideal home in our great city," said the Ambassador Theatre Group's Carole Shorenstein Hays in a press release.

"My family and I are filled with joy thinking about all the audiences coming to San Francisco to experience Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – particularly first-time and young theatergoers, who have always been a core part of our mission.”

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, written by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany, opened in London's West End in 2016, where it was met by sweeping praise for a visually spectacular production centering on a year in the life of Harry's youngest son, Albus Severus. A rehearsal script was published at the same time for fans who couldn't make it to the U.K. The Broadway production debuted in New York earlier this year.

More information on dates and tickets for the San Francisco production of Cursed Child will be available in the next few months. You can currently buy tickets for Cursed Child on Broadway (or try to).
