Hogwarts is finally opening its doors to you. Yes you.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, announced today, is a mobile game that fulfills the lifelong fantasies of Harry Potter fans, allowing them to create their own characters and attend the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from years one through seven, learning the ins and outs of magic.

The game is being developed by Jam City in partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and has a vague release window of sometime in 2018. It will be available through Google Play and iOS, and you can pre-register for the game through its website.

Not much is known about Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, even the mystery teased with a title like "Hogwarts Mystery." But the announcement did name-drop some classes like Defense Against the Dark Arts and Potions, and included a mention of the Dueling Club.

As for which characters will be attending Hogwarts with you, no specific students or professors were mentioned, but the press release does say: "Most of the iconic professors from the Harry Potter stories reprise their roles in the game."

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is the first official Harry Potter game that allows players to create their own characters. Most other games put players in control of the eponymous hero.

Another Harry Potter mobile has also been announced for 2018 by the developers of Pokémon Go, called Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, which will work similarly to Pokémon Go and have players visit real-world locations to find different items and engage with the game.
