For those searching for a career with meaning, look no further than Suffolk Wildlife Trust.

The wildlife organization, based in Ipswich, UK, is in need of a Hedgehog Officer.

"We are looking for an inspirational individual who will be the face of hedgehog conservation in Ipswich," the job posting reads. "You will use your knowledge of nature conservation and hedgehog ecology to lead an ambitious project seeking to make Ipswich the most hedgehog friendly town in the UK."

Suffolk Wildlife Trust identifies Ipswich as a "hedgehog hotspot." The Hedgehog Officer is tasked with increasing the town's appeal for these woodland critters by creating a, "street by street network of hedgehog accessible habitat and monitor hedgehog activity."

"By inspiring streets of people to act together to create habitat links and remove the barriers to hedgehog movement between gardens, your goal is to establish a network of feeding, nesting and hibernating habitat across the town," the job listing explains.

The job pays pays £24,000, should you meet Suffolk Wildlife Trust's standards for previous wildlife conservation experience, among other requirements.

Hedgehog conservation is the focus of multiple UK charities, including the People's Trust for Endangered Species and the British Hedgehog Preservation Society. Together they've created Hedgehog Street, a campaign that encourages Britain's residents to optimize their gardens for hedgehog use.
