Even news outlets can be thirsty.

Australia is a long, long way from Hollywood, so when the world's hottest couple, otherwise known as Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston, took a trip Down Under last week, the country lost its collective mind.

Hiddleston arrived in Australia Friday for the filming of Thor 3: Ragnarok, and much to the excitement of every breakfast TV show in the country, his new girlfriend came along.

The arrival of the duo, complete with their own #HiddleSwift hashtag, turned media outlets into the text book definition of no chill.

Exhibit A: Airports are great #content

The excitement kicked off Friday, with early morning live crosses to journalists stationed in front of the Gold Coast airport before the sun had even peeped over the horizon.

An entire report was devoted to speculation that HiddleSwift may or may not have been airborne and on their way to Australia. Just barely masking its priorities, Channel 9 breakfast show Today referred to the Marvel superstar simply as "an actor" and "Swift's new flame."

Exhibit B: Behold the beauty of a plane taxiing

Once the duo was in Australian airspace, 7 News Sydney unveiled the "Tay Tay Cam."

Unconfirmed reports say the third window from the left was the very window the lovers and super celebrities walked past on the way to their seats.

Exhibit C: Catwalks can be anywhere

Channel 7's Sunrise was the first to bring real time footage of Tay and Tom's arrival, and the show broadcast every juicy step.

In addition to capturing history, Sunrise replayed the majestic and relatable catwalk through customs on loop so as not to miss any of the border security action or HiddleSwift's in-flight fashion.

Exhibit D: Describe the news as Swift would

The Gold Coast Bulletin took the cake for best print headlines -- the cake in question being made from dad jokes, glitter love hearts and pipe cleaners spelling out the word 4EVA.

On Saturday, the paper reported all the day's hard news exclusively using the titles of Swift songs. Who knew her brand of songwriting would fit so perfectly as a metaphor for the breakdown of a friendship AND a turf war between law enforcement and bikie gangs?

Exhibit E: Chasing one half of HiddleSwift down the street

With the staying power of Queen Elizabeth, the 9 News team proudly boasted to have snagged an exclusive chat with The Night Manager himself.

Witness Hiddleston politely and awkwardly answering their questions in the most British way possible.

Exhibit F: Flying above the action

Nine News Sydney did their part and went above and beyond, broadcasting video of a van, some people in hi-vis vests and some blurry humans who are either HiddleSwift or the Loch Ness Monster.

It's a comment on work place safety and how not to park a car. Poignant, thoughtful, and about as subtle as Calvin Harris' new song.

Exhibit G: Gif representation of journalistic thirst

So basically, Australia and its journalists are as keen for HiddleSwift as a heat seeking missile in a volcano. Perhaps we've just never heard of the expression "treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen."
