The Internet loves a proper throwback photo. Take, for example, this adorable side-by-side photo of cousins taken on their respective graduation days, 10 years apart.

It's since hit more than 2.36 million views on Imgur and more than 900 comments on Reddit.

Reddit user DirtyDrummer -- whose IRL name is Jake-- told Mashable via email that he and his cousin Searra recreated their original photo at her high school graduation in Auburn, Washington, on Saturday.

The original photo was taken in 2006 at Jake's graduation. Searra's sister Miriah edited the photos together.

"As far as the whole going viral thing, I never expected it to get so big!" Jake said. "Especially seeing other people from my little town of Auburn, Washington, recognizing and responding in the thread. I'd never had a post that big on Reddit in my six years posting."

This is a family tradition in the making.
