Iceland creates PSA to help visitors avoid 'hot tub awkwardness'
Iceland is doing everything it can to convince tourists to visit.
Icelandair offered free Icelandic "stopover buddies" to give travelers a local experience, and now the official tourism board has created an entire curriculum to teach foreigners how to fit in.
The first lesson: How not to be awkward at the public spa. Gudmundur, the head of spa etiquette, provides a somewhat crude crash course on the topic in one of several videos available through Iceland Academy.

"Iceland Academy is an online academy where tourists can sign up for short video tutorials/classes," according to Inspired by Iceland. The videos offer advice on "everything from responsible conduct to avoiding awkwardness in the hot tub to safe driving and packing warm clothes."
In addition to hot tub etiquette, Inspired by Iceland also created instructional videos for the following topics for the Spring term:
"The fun yet serious campaign is less about increasing visitor numbers," according to Inspired by Iceland, "and more focused on people's behavior during their trip and ensuring they have the best visit possible."
