Ryan Coogler's Sinners made Oscar history long before the Academy Awards began. With 16 Academy Award nominations, it's the most Oscar–nominated movie of all time. How many of those nominations did it convert to wins at tonight's ceremony?

Ryan Coogler won his first Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Throughout this awards season, he has also picked up Best Original Screenplay awards at the Critics' Choice Awards, Golden Globes, BAFTAs, and WGA awards.

Ludwig Göransson picked up Sinners' second Oscar win for Best Original Score. This is his third Oscar: He has won previously for his work on Black Panther and Oppenheimer. He is also nominated tonight alongside Raphael Saadiq for Best Original Song for "I Lied to You."

Autumn Durald Arkapaw made Oscars history as the first woman to win Best Cinematography for her work on Sinners. During her acceptance speech, she asked the women in the room to stand up, saying, "I don't get here without you guys."

Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor for his dual roles of twins Smoke and Stack. He becomes the sixth Black man to win an Academy Award for a leading role. In his acceptance speech, he thanked the prior winners, as well as Halle Berry, who remains the only Black woman to win the Oscar for Best Actress.

"I stand here because of the people who came before me," he said. "Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker, Will Smith."
