Brace yourselves: All of Us Strangers, aka "the hottest, saddest movie" of 2023, is coming to streaming. The highly acclaimed ghost story written and directed by Andrew Haigh was adapted from Taichi Yamada's novel Strangers. It stars Emmy-nominated Fleabag actor Andrew Scott and Oscar-nominated Normal People lead Paul Mescal and — despite being snubbed for Oscar nominations — was one our favorite movies of 2023.

Here's everything you need to know to watch All of Us Strangers and see for yourself what the hype is all about.

What is All of Us Strangers about?

All of Us Strangers follows lonely screenwriter Adam (Andrew Scott) whose blossoming romance with his similarly lonesome neighbor Harry (Paul Mescal) takes place alongside a deep inner journey into his own past. Part of that journey includes confronting the childhood trauma of his parents' death in a car crash when he was only 12. He takes a trip back to his unoccupied childhood home only to find his parents preserved as they were, which offers him an unexpected chance to get to know them as an adult.

It's a "moving example of how cinema can fold tragedy and catharsis into one," writes Siddhant Adlakha in his review for Mashable.

Peep the trailer below to get a glimpse into the film:

When does All of Us Strangers start streaming?

All of Us Strangers makes its streaming debut on Feb. 22, 2024 exclusively on Hulu. If you're already a Hulu subscriber, good on you. Come Feb. 22, Mescal and Scott will be gracing your screen. Not yet a subscriber? You'll need to sign up in order to watch (more on that below).

How to watch All of Us Strangers: The best Hulu streaming deals

As noted above, you're going to need a Hulu subscription in order to stream All of Us Strangers at home. The question is which Hulu subscription is best for you — and can you sign up for free? There are monthly and annual options, ad-supported and ad-free tiers, free trials and third-party deals, and even bundle options. We've broken down all the details below to help you find the best Hulu streaming deal for you.

Best for new (or returning) subscribers: Hulu 30-day free trial

If you're brand new to Hulu or returning after some time away, you can score a free 30-day trial and easily watch All of Us Strangers (and plenty more) without seeing a charge on your bank statement. Before those 30 days are up, you can either decide to keep your subscription going for $7.99 or $17.99 per month (with or without ads) or cancel to avoid charges.

Best for long-term viewing: Hulu (with ads) annual subscription

New and current subscribers can save money on their plan by opting for the annual subscription instead of the monthly subscription. It typically costs $7.99 per month for the ad-supported tier, but with the annual plan, that monthly costs drops to about $6.67 per month. Sure, you have to pay $79.99 up front, but over a year's time, you'll end up saving about 16%. It may not be the best choice for someone simply looking to watch All of Us Strangers and move on, but for anyone looking to stick around long-term, this is the way to go.

Best for T-Mobile customers: Hulu (with ads) included for one year

As of last month, T-Mobile Go5G Next customers can get Hulu (with ads) included for free with their plan. Just head over to the T-Mobile website and choose "redeem now" to claim the offer. You'll have to enter your T-Mobile number and log in with your personal details, but T-Mobile will walk you through the process. Just note that after your initial 12-month promotional period, action will be required to continue your complimentary Hulu subscription. So be sure to keep an eye out for that.

Best for students: Spotify Premium for Students with Hulu

Students have a couple different ways to sign up for Hulu at a discount. Our personal favorite is Spotify Premium for Students, which gives you access to Spotify Premium as well as Hulu (with ads) for just $5.99 per month. Better yet, you'll get a free one-month trial to test the waters. The only real requirement is that you can prove you're a student through SheerID.

If you don't need another music streaming service, you can still get Hulu at a discount by signing up for a Hulu student account. While there's no free trial, you'll only have to pay $1.99 per month — that's 75% off the usual monthly cost.

Best bundle deal: Hulu + Disney+ (with ads)

If you're just looking to watch All of Us Strangers and move on, this won't be the best option for you. However, the Disney bundle is one of the best streaming deals around if you want more bang for your buck. You can get Hulu as well as Disney+ for only $9.99 per month — that's just $2 more than paying for Hulu on its own. Sports lovers can also throw ESPN+ into the mix with the Disney Trio bundle for only $14.99 per month, which saves you 44% overall. You'll have to watch some ads as you stream, but for that low price, it's worth it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hulu is one of the only streamers that still offers a 30-day free trial. If you're brand new to Hulu or you're a returning customer after a long hiatus, you can secure 30 days for free. Select T-Mobile customers can also get Hulu for free (see more details here).
