How to watch OpenAI’s GPT-5 announcement livestream today (updated)
OpenAI announced a livestream for 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET) on Aug. 7, 2025, writing on X: "LIVE5TREAM THURSDAY 10AM PT." You might have noticed a typo — the "S" usually found in the word "livestream" is actually a 5.
That's right — OpenAI appears is teasing the highly anticipated launch of its new AI model GPT-5, including rumored features like better coding abilities, larger context windows, improved video generation with Sora, improved memory, and more.
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.
Despite recent reports that GPT-5 was being delayed yet again, all signs point to "Go" for an August release, and you can see for yourself during the livestream later today.
