So far this season, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights have played every game at home, but this Saturday, they'll hit the road to take on the Michigan Wolverines in what's sure to be an epic battle. Both teams come into week four with an undefeated record, but one team will come out of the Big Ten East battle with its first loss.

Michigan is highly favored to win the matchup after pulverizing Rutgers 52-17 last season. But, as you know in college football games, anything can happen. Here's what you need to know to tune into the action live at home.

Kickoff time and network

Michigan hosts Rutgers at home at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor at 12 p.m. ET on Sept. 23. The game will be televised on Big Ten Network for those with cable access, but you can still tune in live if you've recently cut the cord. All you need is a provider login, which can be attained through a live TV streaming service like YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, and more.

Best streaming services for Rutgers vs. Michigan football matchup

If you've recently ditched your cable contract, you'll need a streaming service or two to watch live college football games during the 2023-2024 season — including the Michigan and Rutgers matchup this weekend. Since the game is televised on Big Ten Network, your only option is to sign up for a live TV streaming service to watch it live. Fortunately, a cable replacement options will serve as a solid long-term investment for tuning into college football games throughout the season. Below, we've helped you out with our top picks for the Wolverines vs. Scarlet Knights game and beyond.

Best overall: YouTube TV

YouTube TV is our favorite live TV streaming service, thanks to its lineup of over 100 live TV channels, unlimited DVR space, generous number of household accounts, and three simultaneous streams. You'll be able to tune into the Rutgers vs. Michigan matchup live on Big Ten Network, as well as many other games throughout the rest of the season on ABC, CBS, NBC, ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPNews, SEC Network, The CW, and more.

Start watching commitment-free for 20 minutes to test the waters, then launch a free trial for up to 14 days (trial period may vary). After your trial, you can choose to keep your subscription for an introductory rate of $54.99/month for three months ($72.99/month thereafter) or cancel at anytime.

Runner-up live TV streaming service: FuboTV

FuboTV is similar to YouTube TV in its amount of content, though the lineup is even more comprehensive for sports. According to Mashable shopping reporter Leah Stodart, it's "your ticket to a constant drip-feed of live sports from around the world." It's a bit pricier than YouTube TV, with a less attractive introductory offer, but it still offers a lot of bang for your buck. You can test it out with a seven-day free trial, which gives you the credentials to watch Big Ten Network for the Rutgers vs. Michigan game, but then you'll have to dish out $74.99/month for the Pro tier or $84.99/month for the Elite tier to continue your subscription.

Most affordable live TV streaming service: Sling TV (Blue package + Sports Extra)

If YouTube TV and FuboTV are simply too expensive, Sling TV might be a bit more attractive. It offers a smaller library of channels overall compared to the other two options, but it's still a solid choice for streaming college football. To watch the Rutgers vs. Michigan game, specifically, you'll need the Blue package ($40/month) with the Sports Extra add-on ($11/month). That comes to $51/month in total, but Sling is offering an introductory rate of just $20/month for your first month of the Blue package. That knocks the price down to just $31 for your first month of service. Be sure to cancel if you don't want to be charged full price for the following months.

Best live TV streaming deal: Hulu + Live TV

Through Oct. 11, Hulu is running a deal that gives you three discounted months of Hulu + Live TV. Not only can you watch the Rutgers vs. Michigan game on Big Ten Network, but also plenty of other games throughout the next three months on channels like ABC, ACC Network, Big Ten Network, CBS, ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPNews, ESPN U, Fox, FS1, and more. It's usually $69.99/month, but you'll pay just $49.99/month for the first three months of your subscription if you sign up before Oct. 11. After that, it'll jump back up to full price.
