Huawei’s online brand Honor today launched the Honor 8, Honor 8 Smart, and Honor Holly 3 smartphones in India. The flagship Honor 8 features a dual-camera setup on the back and is one of the cheapest smartphone with this feature in India.

Honor says it is using two 12-megapixel sensors -- one RGB and another monochrome -- on the Honor 8. The setup enables the phone to capture more light and offer vivid color combination. In addition, the Honor 8 sports a 5.2-inch full HD LCD display with a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by company’s homegrown Kirin 950 chip coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

The dual-SIM capable smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 skin on top. Other features include an 8-megapixel selfie camera, 3,000mAh battery, a USB Type-C 1.0 reversible charging connector.

Though dual-camera setup on the back isn’t especially a new feature, it is often available on phones that cost a premium. The LG G5, Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus, and HTC 10, for instance, all offer such camera setups, but they all were launched in India with a price tag going north of Rs 45,000 ($675). The Honor 8, by comparison, has been launched at Rs 29,999 ($450). The only smartphone that beats the Honor 8's pricing is the LG X Cam, which was launched a couple of months ago for Rs 19,999 ($300).

The Honor 8 Smart is a trimmed down version of the Honor 8. It features a 5.2-inch full-HD display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a relatively less powerful Kirin 650 processor. Unlike the Honor 8, the Honor 8 Smart has a single camera setup with a 13-megapixel shooter on the rear and an 8-megapixel selfie sensor on top. It features a 3,000mAh battery and a standard micro-USB port. It is priced at Rs 19,999 ($300).

Moving along, the Honor Holly 3 sports a 5.5-inch full-HD display and carries a 3,100mAh battery. It is powered by the Kirin 620 octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. In addition, it comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 8-megapixel selfie shooter. What’s more interesting about the Honor Holly 3 is that it is the company's first smartphone to be manufactured in India. It is priced at Rs 9,999 ($150).
