A human tree spotted blocking traffic at an intersection Monday afternoon is killing it in the costume department.

A local TV editor posted a video on Twitter Monday afternoon of what appears to be a man dressed convincingly as a tree on a crosswalk in Portland, Maine. The video documented the tree's slow-moving take-down by police.

Apparently police arrested the man after the human-tree hybrid continued to block traffic. Another local TV producer at the scene reported on Twitter that the #humantree wouldn't speak to reporters.

Locals were quick to join in online on the arboreal fun.

A motive for the tree's appearance in downtown Portland is not clear.
