A trip to a museum has never sounded so sweet.

This summer, instead of taking a boring old swim or huddling near your air conditioner, you can cool off with the ultimate treat -- a trip to the Museum of Ice Cream in New York.

The pop-up museum is coming to the Meatpacking District at 100 Gansevoort Street to give you the complete scoop on ice cream and show you all the ways to enjoy the refreshing dessert -- besides simply eating it in mass quantities.

According to the museum's website, from July 29 to Aug. 31 you can experience a variety of "interactive highlights" such as a "swimmable rainbow ‘sprinkle’ pool, edible balloons, an immersive chocolate room and a collaborative massive ice cream sundae."

In addition to display pieces from New York City artists, the website goes on to say that "guests will swing on an ice cream sandwich made for two, seesaw on an ice cream scooper and find their match/favorite flavor on a custom app in Tinder Land." What more could we ask for?

And for anyone wondering whether or not you'll actually be able to consume ice cream at the museum, Dr. Irwin Adam, founder of Future Food Studio, will lead your tastebuds on a delicious journey with an exclusive tasting -- because what would an ice cream museum be without some snacks?

The website also explains that the museum's "Scoop of the Week" will feature ice cream samples from some of the city’s most iconic eateries, including Black Tap, OddFellows Ice Cream Co. and more.

Tickets range from $12 - $30 and can be purchased on the website, but if you can't wait until July 29 you can drool over the museum's Instagram account.
