You memed the hell out of IKEA's sofa planner, so they made a font out of it
I bet you've never looked at a font and thought, wow that looks comfy enough to sit on. Until now, that is.
IKEA have released a free typeface after the internet memed the hell out of their sofa planning tool.
In late June, people with far too much time on their hands decided to make some very far-fetched creations using IKEA's design-your-own-sofa planner.
The tool lets you design layouts of IKEA couches using the Vimle sectionals and Vallentuna sofa collection. The planner offered up basically no restrictions on the possibilities of virtual sofa design, so people really took the idea and ran with it.
The end products were quite something, like this "extremely powerful $15,000 couch."

So, IKEA saw quite the opportunity, and released Soffa Sans, described by the company as "the world’s comfiest font."
"[The font was] inspired by our customers' use of the Vallentuna planner," the description continues. "Its modular form and relaxed letter-spacing make it one of the most versatile. Also available in life-size." See what they did there.
The letters basically look like alphabetic sofas — which, to be fair, look good enough to sit on.
You can download the font for free and add it to your computer's selection of fonts pretty easily.
Here's how to get it to work:
1. Download the font from the IKEA website.
2. Open the .ZIP file and click on IKEA-SOFA-SANS.otf.
3. Install the font.
Hey presto, you should be ready to start typing in couch.
