Mere moments before Donald Trump began to address the crowds as the 45th President of the United States, the skies over Washington D.C. opened up and it began to rain.

The jury's still out on whether this is a sign of God's blessing (or perhaps weeping) or just that thing called rain that happens a lot, but a lot of people have opinions about it.

The rain began almost immediately after Mike Pence took his oath of office, and it certainly seemed... fitting, for the occasion.

The rain continued through President Trump's inaugural address, the drops becoming visible on his suit and the several transparent umbrellas and little ponchos everyone whipped out.

The fight to claim the sky's emotion was reclaimed, however, in a prayer from evangelist Franklin Graham.

"Mr. President, in the Bible, rain is a sign of God’s blessing. And it started to rain, Mr. President, when you came to the platform."

Others still were quick to point out the bible's differing takes on the meaning of rain.

Of course, there is also the precedent of what rain has meant in past inaugurals, as pointed out by CNN.
