The Incredibles are back, and they have a laser baby. This is great news.

Disney Pixar's first-ever look at The Incredibles 2 reveals that the youngest member of the superhuman family has a new power: Jack-Jack Parr can now shoot lasers out of his eyes. That's in addition to the shapeshifting, fire-making, and phasing powers he tapped into in the first movie.

While our first look at The Incredibles 2 focuses dad Bob Parr's adventures in babysitting, we learned over the summer that mom Helen Parr -- aka "Elastigirl" -- is the star of this new story. We don't know what global threat she's facing, but we're sure she can handle it.

The trailer here raises more questions than it answers. Jack-Jack already had powers in The Incredibles, he just lacked control. And yet here we see Bob excitedly shout in Jack-Jack's face, "You have powers!" Maybe it's a flashback?

At least now we know when answers will be coming. The long-awaited sequel to Pixar's 2004 hit will be in theaters next summer, on June 15, 2018.

UPDATED Nov. 18 at 11:28 a.m. ET An earlier version of this story erroneously identified Jack-Jack as a new member of The Incredibles family. In fact, Jack-Jack played a major role in the original movie. We regret the error.
