'Independence Day' returns in an Atari-style video game
Welcome to Earth. Again.
Before humanity faces the returning alien menace of Independence Day: Resurgence on June 24, a 20th anniversary Blu-ray release takes a look back at the original film from 1996. And Mashable can reveal exclusively a browser game supporting the release that looks like a relic from the Atari era.

You can check the game out right here. It isn't difficult. The UFO take a few shots to bring down, but -- unlike normal, puny humans -- you have unlimited lives. The only penalty for death is a few seconds of lost time that could otherwise be spent blasting aliens out of the sky.
The 20th anniversary edition Blu-ray of Independence Day arrives on May 3.
