Welcome to Earth. Again.

Before humanity faces the returning alien menace of Independence Day: Resurgence on June 24, a 20th anniversary Blu-ray release takes a look back at the original film from 1996. And Mashable can reveal exclusively a browser game supporting the release that looks like a relic from the Atari era.

It's a simple side-scrolling shoot 'em up in which you pilot a jet fighter through UFO-filled skies to reach the alien mothership and deliver a big bomb. All that's missing are dry Jeff Goldblum quips.

You can check the game out right here. It isn't difficult. The UFO take a few shots to bring down, but -- unlike normal, puny humans -- you have unlimited lives. The only penalty for death is a few seconds of lost time that could otherwise be spent blasting aliens out of the sky.

The 20th anniversary edition Blu-ray of Independence Day arrives on May 3.
