Just when you're finally accepting the controversial new Instagram icon and the flatter black and white design, Instagram may be shaking things up once again.

Mashable has discovered Instagram may remove the list view that lets you scroll continuously through an account's posts. An Instagram spokesperson has confirmed to Mashable they're testing the feature on a small group of users.

On my personal account, where there is normally a thumbnail view, a list view, a location map view, and a tagged photos view, I currently don't have the list view.

When clicking on other accounts (like Mashable's) who don't have the location map view activated, profiles only show two views: thumbnail and tagged photos.

With no list view, how the heck is anyone going to be able to binge on a person's Instagrams?

I may have an answer for that, too. In the recorded video below, I also discovered on Thursday morning the list view had been incorporated into the thumbnails view, although both icons were still present when I recorded the footage.

If Instagram were to remove the list view from profiles and combine it into the thumbnails view, it could avert serious Instagram muscle memory outrage. (People will still bitch about change, but still.)

Instagram sometimes tests new features on small groups of users in select regions. The tests, however, don't guarantee a public rollout to all users.

Interestingly enough, minutes after Mashable reached out to Instagram on the removal of the list view on my accounts, the list view was restored. Coincidence? Maybe not, but it's all a little too fishy.

A search through Twitter reveals other users from as early as June 21 have noticed the disappearance of the list on their accounts as well:
