Instagram is officially getting a polling feature.

The app added a new type of interactive sticker that allows users to add polls to their Stories, as well as new "color picker" and alignment tools.

The new "poll" stickers allow users to add two-option queries to their Stories. Those who view your Story can then vote in the poll by tapping on one of the options.

Viewers can see poll results unfold in real time and the person who posted the poll can see a breakdown of who voted for which option. All polls and results disappear after 24 hours, just like everything else posted to Stories.

Instagram is also adding two new tools to enhance Story creation. A new "color picker," which makes it easier to draw with specific colors, and an alignment tool that makes it easier to see how stickers and text are positioned.

The color picker is a lot like the eyedropper tool in Photoshop and other editing programs (Instagram's version also uses an eyedropper icon). Select the tool (next to the color selection area) and the drawing tool will fill in the color to match whatever area of your photo you select.

The alignment tool helps you visualize how stickers and text are positioned in your Story. Moving a sticker or bit of text now brings up blue lines meant to help center the elements. The app will also show you if text or stickers will be obscured when someone views your story (if they go to type a reply, for example).

All the latest features are available now on Instagram's iPhone and Android apps.
