Asian iOS 10 Messages stickers will up your kawaii quotient

The release of iOS 10 brought a significant upgrade to the Messages app formerly known as iMessage: stickers.

Seen in a host of other apps popular in Asia, such as WeChat and Line, stickers allow you to pop large graphics into your messages -- kind of like souped-up emoji.

In the app store, there's a bunch of Asian-made stickers that will help you express yourself better.

MaCaChan

MaCaChan's backstory may be that she's a Japanese macaron from a bakery in France, but the stickers originate from Thai company i-App Creation.

The cute anthropomorphic pink macaron is portrayed in 40 illustrations in the sticker pack, which is a free download on the App Store. Get them here.

Cat Quest

The Cat Quest stickers were made by Singaporean indie gaming studio The Gentlebros, to accompany its upcoming open-world RPG game of the same name.

The main yellow cat character is the star of the sticker pack, and it's clear that some of the stickers take inspiration from popular stickers and memes seen in apps such as Line.

Run Run Super V

If you're a fan of Run Run Super V from Filipino developer Altitude Games, you're going to get a chance to use its five rangers to express yourself in this free sticker pack.

Zen Koi

Another Singaporean sticker pack, Zen Koi, allows you a full range of expressions through Japanese carp characters.

The sticker pack comes from LandShark Games, whose Zen Koi game is a meditative carp collection quest to grow and breed the beautiful fish.

The sticker pack's koi look quite different from the game's more 'calm' aesthetic.

Zap Zap Math

Malaysian developer Visual Math Interactive's game Zap Zap Math was released with elementary schoolkids in mind.

But it doesn't mean you can't enjoy its free sticker pack all the same, with its alien 'mathlings' in a range of scenarios. Get it here.
