iOS 11.1 is out now, and it's filled with hundreds of new emoji
Bring on the new emoji!
Apple's just released iOS 11.1, and it's packed with more than 70 new emoji, including new gender-neutral characters, animals, mythical creatures, Halloween emoji (just in time!), and the sure-to-be-a-new-favorite "swearing" face.
The update also brings a number of fixes, including the return of using 3D Touch on the left edge of your screen to open up the app switcher. Apple previously said it intentionally removed this feature from iOS because it was causing issues with the system.
According to iOS 11.1's release notes, the update also patches up a number of issues related to the photos app and improves a bunch of VoiceOver features.
Fixes for problems related to Mail notifications on the Lock screen, inaccurate reporting with 3rd-party GPS accessories, and better data management are also included.

And, of course, there are the usual security patches to keep your device as secure as possible.
If you've got iOS 11 installed on a supported iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, definitely go and update, if only just for the new emoji.
To update, go the Settings app > General > Software Update.
