The only place to buy an iPhone 7 Plus on launch day is probably Craigslist

And it'll cost you a lot more.

The new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are already shaping up to be a huge hit. Even without a new design, Apple has managed to sell out of Jet Black models for both phone sizes and completely out of the iPhone 7 Plus in all colors.

If you're planning to camp out in front of an Apple Store in hopes of scoring one on Friday morning, we have bad news: It's not gonna happen, especially in the UK, where all models and colors are sold out.

So how the heck are you going to get an iPhone 7 Plus (with its dual rear cameras and 5.5-inch screen) on launch day? There are a few places you'll have better luck trying.

Carrier shops or authorized retailers

With Apple having no stock, a wireless carrier shop might be a better option. Though smaller, there are more wireless carrier stores available than there are Apple stores. However, since they're usually smaller, there's a good chance they will have very limited or no stock at all.

Alternatively, you could check with authorized retailers, which are even smaller than the carrier shops, which could mean an even smaller chance of nabbing a 7 Plus, but it's worth a shot.

We called up carriers stores in New York City (three for each in Manhattan) for AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon and all of them said they either wouldn't have any of the 7 Plus or "didn't know." That's not exactly promising.

Big box retailers

Similar to the above, some big box retailers may or may not be selling them as walk-ins.

Mashable called up several Best Buy and Target locations within the New York City and Los Angeles areas, as well as a couple of small towns in Missouri and Kentucky, but the response was the same: Store reps either didn't know if they were receiving any stock for walk-ins, or stores knew they would not have any stock at all.

Craigslist

Failing wireless carrier stores and big-box retailers, Craigslist is going to be the only place to get the iPhone 7 Plus. You'll probably see them on eBay, but they won't arrive the same day; you'll have to wait for delivery.

Craigslist will be flooded with iPhone 7 Plus stock from "flippers" who are looking to make a quick profit. Expect to see these phones cost several hundred dollars more than -- maybe even two to three times -- the actual retail price.

That's the cost you'll have to pay if you must have an iPhone 7 Plus on launch day.
