There's been an enormous influx of iPhone rumors lately, which is saying something given how constantly the iPhone rumor mill churns.

With so many swirling around, the consensus appears to be that Apple's developing not one, but two, three or even more prototypes for the upcoming iPhone 8, each with a bunch of different features which may or may not make it to the final product.

A new extensive report by Bloomberg reads like an overview of each iPhone 8 rumor we've heard so far: Three models are in the works, two of which will be conventional upgrades of the iPhone 7 while one will be a radical departure from the current design, with an OLED display covering nearly its entire front side. That unconventional new model might have a fingerprint scanner under the display, it might have a vertically-positioned dual camera on the back, and it might have a glass back.

Or it might have none of these things.

According to the report, Apple is testing more than one screen size for the unconventional iPhone 8 prototype. Also, one model has a glass back, with prominent curves on top and bottom, making it somewhat similar to the original iPhone, which came out in 2007. Another has a slightly curved, symmetrical glass on both front and back, and yet another has an aluminum back.

Due to supply constraints, whichever of these phones turns out to be the final product might be delayed.

While we've heard some variations of all these rumors recently, the new report does include a few tidbits we haven't seen before.

Apple, the report claims, is testing a dual selfie camera for the new iPhone — a feature that has already made it into a few Android phones from China. The company is also looking into integrating the camera into the screen.

So where does this onslaught of semi-conflicting rumors leave us?

The "multiple prototypes" theory basically confirms that nothing is set in stone with regards to the new iPhone. The final device might have any combination of the features mentioned above, or perhaps, none of them.

As we come closer to the likely launch date for the new iPhones in September, the reports and rumors will probably become less erratic. For now, it seems that everything is still possible.
