10 years of people destroying their iPhones in very dumb ways

In order of increasing absurdity

For as long as the iPhone's existed on God's green earth (which is 10 years today!), people on the internet have set out to destroy them in unusual and increasingly dangerous ways.

Extreme iPhone destruction is a silly and wasteful YouTube trope, but we can't deny that it works-- the combined views on the videos assembled here total well over 123.6 million. It begs the question: how many smartphones have suffered at the hands of vloggers? It's a lot. The answer is a lot.

In honor of 10 years of iPhones, please enjoy these wasteful YouTubers destroying many different models of the iconic smartphone using these various methods:

1. Water

2. A microwave

3. A blender

4. Boiled soda

5. Boiled crayons

6. An industrial shredder

7. Liquid nitrogen

8. A waterjet cutter

9. More than 10,000 matches

10. A red-hot ball of nickel

11. Set on fire and dropped 100 feet into a kiddie pool

12. Actual lava
