LONDON -- On the dreaded date of October 31, the weather report is usually one of the few, sweet refuges from the relentless onslaught of Halloween.

Not on Irish channel TG4, though.

During a routine weather report from presenter Caitlín Nic Aoidh on Monday evening, something shockingly unexpected happened.

OK, so it's a bit corny, but you can't deny it's also pretty brilliant.

The prank certainly went down well on Twitter.

Over the last 12 or so hours, the clip has been shared thousands of times.

Despite the lightening incident, Caitlín Nic Aoidh has been active on Twitter since, too -- so unless she's been abducted and her feed is now in the slimy grey hands of aliens, all is well.
