Whatever you might think of president-elect Donald Trump and his wife Melania, at least they've paved the way for less-than-qualified people to achieve great success. Big success. Huge.

That's why Isla Fisher gave thanks, when she received the Trailblazer Award at the AACTAs, Australia's most prestigious honours for the film industry.

The 40-year-old wife for Sacha Baron Cohen did a Melania: A tongue-in-cheek recital of the soon-to-be First Lady's speech from the Republican National Convention. Yep, the one which face plagiarism accusations earlier this year.

"From a young age my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in this life, that your word is your bond, you say what you want to do and you keep your promises, that you treat people with respect," Fisher said, according to news.com.au.

"Those are actually Michelle Obama's words," she revealed, to applause from the crowd. "But I figured if Melania Trump can use them and have success, I should try."

Fisher left her final hurrah for the president-elect however, who she cited as a big inspiration to herself. Huge inspiration.

"And I do need to thank Donald Trump. Because I don't think I'd be here without him showing the world that unqualified orange people can win things," she said.

Maybe there's hope for some of us yet.
