Former FBI Director James Comey is now a world-famous notetaker, so I guess it makes sense he'd cash in on that habit with a book deal now that he has a little more free time.

Comey is writing a book about leadership due out in the spring of 2018, according to Flatiron Books, his newly announced publisher. His deal is reportedly worth $2 million.

"Comey will explore what good, ethical leadership looks like and how it drives sound decisions," the publisher wrote in a statement. "Using examples from some of the highest-stakes situations in the past two decades of American government, Comey will share yet-unheard anecdotes from his long and distinguished career."

So, not a memoir, but also kind of a memoir.

"Throughout his career, James Comey has had to face one difficult decision after another as he has served the leaders of our country," Flatiron President Bob Miller said in the statement. "His book promises to take us inside those extraordinary moments in our history, showing us how these leaders have behaved under pressure."

Tbh I think Comey should call the book "Under Pressure." Flatiron, if you're reading this, I work just down the street. I can come to you guys or you can come to me. I have great advice.

Comey's book comes, of course, after President Donald Trump booted him from his position as FBI director in May. The former director found out from TVs running the breaking news while he was in the FBI's Los Angeles office.

The FBI is running one of several investigations into the connections between the president's administration and the Russian government, and many feel Trump fired Comey because the former director wouldn't assure the president that all this Russia business would simply vanish.

Maybe Comey will tell us all more in writing.
