James Comey once pulled a Sean Spicer to avoid Trump

People are going to great lengths to avoid the president.

People working for President Donald Trump are apparently so embarrassed/ashamed/uneasy/disconcerted by him that they literally trying to hide themselves in the surrounding environment.

First it was Press Secretary Sean Spicer, who evaded reporters by standing AMONG the bushes (not IN the bushes as initially reported).

Then, it was the turn of former FBI Director James Comey, sacked by the president May 9.

As explained by Benjamin Wittes, senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and a Comey friend, in The New York Times, Comey tried to blend into the White House curtains to avoid being noticed by Trump during a January ceremony at the White House:

The ceremony occurred in the Blue Room of the White House, where many senior law enforcement officials — including the Secret Service director — had gathered.

Mr. Comey — who is 6 feet 8 inches tall and was wearing a dark blue suit that day – told Mr. Wittes that he tried to blend in with the blue curtains in the back of the room, in the hopes that Mr. Trump would not spot him and call him out.

You can see that happening after the 0:03 trademark:

He's definitely trying to merge with the curtains (LOL).

Unfortunately for him, Trump did spot him, called him by name and even blew him a kiss.

Comey was determined "that there wasn't going to be a hug" -- but Trump had a different opinion:

“It was bad enough there was going to be a handshake. And Comey has long arms so Comey said he pre-emptively reached out for a handshake and grabbed the president’s hand.

But Trump pulled him into an embrace and Comey didn’t reciprocate. If you look at the video, it’s one person shaking hands and another hugging.”

So now you know, people. Do what you have to do with your memes:
