Fired Google engineer James Damore rubs elbows with his supporters on Reddit AMA

Oh I get by with a little help from my friends.

Looks like fired Google engineer James Damore isn't disappearing from our news feeds anytime soon.

The man behind the 10-page manifesto that claimed there are "biological causes" that prevent more women from getting jobs in tech made that clear by wearing a T-shirt with an altered version of the Google logo that reads "Goolag." The meme originated on 4chan's far-right /pol/ board.

But he can't go it alone, so what better way that to host an AMA session on his fan club sub-Reddit to communicate with his supporters? (Reddit AMAs are usually hosted on r/IAmA. Damore said he didn't know how to host an AMA and thought r/JamesDamore would be a non-partisan place to put it.)

First, Damore claimed he has fans within Google, but they're afraid to speak out:

Someone else, after saying they were "really disappointed" that Damore was fired, asked him what his response to people saying he shouldn't really circulate "long-form politically-charged manifestos in the workplace."

“I was participating in a concerted effort to discuss the terms and conditions of my working environment and point out potentially illegal policies/behavior,” Damore said. “I believe I have a legal right to do that.”

He also invited the guy to seek employment in companies that are not "so ideologically driven".

Damore also reiterated his criticism of the media, saying he was wrongly depicted as "anti-diversity/misogynist" :

He also repeated his idea that minorities are getting preferential treatment at Google during the hiring process:

And condemned the "ideological echo chamber and the dangers of the authoritarian leftist policies":

Damore candidly admitted ignorance "about many of people's past and political positions and that's a weakness of mine", which is why he asked Mike Cernovich, prominent alt-right commentator, to tweet out the "Goolag" shirt:

Finally, the ex-Googler started a passionate discussion on whether women are good at chess (really):

Someone here is desperately looking for a platform.
