Something's telling us that we won't be getting many RSVPs if we serve Daisho Fishery Company's new tea at our next party.

The Japanese seafood export company's plans to expand into the tea business by manufacturing great white shark-shaped tea bags are somewhat questionable.

While the shark-shaped tea bags are indeed cute and the rosehip and hibiscus combo sounds flavourful, it's when you soak the tea bag in hot water that things get gory.

The "shark" looks like it's wounded and bleeding, and you end up with a cup of the animal's "blood."

Daisho Fishery Company is currently trying to raise funds to manufacture the shark tea bag and also a whale shark version on Japanese crowdfunding site Makuake.

Thankfully, the whale shark tea bag is filled with green tea tea leaves, so there will be no reenactment of Kill Bill with that.

The company now has three months to hit its target of 1 million yen ($9,900). At the time of writing, it has managed to raise almost half of its target.

We're guessing people don't mind a bit of gore in their tea.
