Jason David Frank, the iconic Green Power Ranger, has died at age 49
Jason David Frank, the beloved actor who played Tommy Oliver in the Power Rangers franchise, passed away at 49 years old on Saturday. The news of Frank's passing was confirmed by his talent rep via Instagram.
Frank was most well-known for his role in the original run of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in 1993, as the Green Ranger Tommy Oliver. Despite appearing in only 14 episodes during that first season, he went on to become one of the most recognized figures in the franchise appearing in 10 series and four movies.
Beyond his role in Power Rangers, Frank was a professionally trained mixed-martial artist, highly versed in Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and others. Fans and friends of Frank are currently sharing tributes on social media to an icon whose work will not be forgotten.

Fellow Rangers Walter E. Jones and Blake Foster, both shared their condolences on Frank's passing.
“RIP Jason David Frank," Jones wrote on Instagram. "My heart is sad to have lost another member of our special family.”
At this time, no statement has been released by Frank's family on his death. "Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being," a rep told TMZ. He loved his family, friends, and fans very much. He will truly be missed."
